Tara McGee was born in Pinehurst, North Carolina and grew up in Randolph County. She first learned about pottery as a child because she lived in close proximity to Seagrove, an area rich in the history and ongoing tradition of pottery making. She currently shows her work throughout North Carolina, as well as, provides work to galleries across the United States. The style of Tara's functional work can be described as both traditional and contemporary. She believes pottery should serve a purpose and use in everyday life.
